The Nintendo DS is a dual-screen handheld gaming console. The device was released globally across 2004 and 2005 by Nintendo. The device has dual screens and the bottom one is featuring a touch screen. Nintendo DS has built-in microphone and support for wireless connectivity. Nintendo DS has the ability to directly interact with each other over Wi-Fi within a short range without the need to connect to an existing wireless network.

Development on the Nintendo DS began around mid-2002. Hiroshi Yamauchi was the creator of the dual screen idea. Hiroshi Yamauchi was the third president of Nintendo. On November 13, 2003, Nintendo announced that they would be releasing a new game product in 2004.
Nintendo announced that Nintendo DS would be released in North America on November 21, 2004, in Japan on December 2, 2004, in Australia on February 24, 2005, and on March 11, 2005, in Europe. Nintendo was released in China on July 23, 2005, as iQue DS.
